Description: REDAC provides a public forum at their bi-annual meetings. As an FAA advisory committee, REDAC provides advice and recommendations to the FAA Administrator on the needs, objectives, plans, approaches, content, and accomplishments of the aviation research portfolio.

October 16, 2024 – AICA shared 1) Westat study findings on N-Above and DNL seem inconsistent with Dr Hansman’s findings and additional researchers, 2) REDAC’s role under the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) to include balanced representation and those “directly affected”, and 3) SFO and Stanford MONA monitoring data should be used for additional research beyond those in the NES and particularly at lower DNL levels.
5. AICA Submitted Comment and Meeting Packet: AICA Requests REDAC to consider key points for “Realizing a 21st Century Noise Policy” in its research and recommendations to FAA
April 17, 2024 – AICA shared key points for “Realizing a 21st Century Noise Policy” to inform REDAC’s research and recommendations to the FAA and encouraged REDAC to read AICA’s Noise Policy Review Comment, Docket ID No. FAA-2023-0855-2206, which provides a balanced representation from the community to support a National Airspace System that works for all. The AICA comment was endorsed by 643 comments.

April 12, 2023 – AICA’s submitted five research study recommendations to address the concerns of citizens directly and substantially affected by aviation noise impacts.
3. AICA Submitted Comment and Meeting Packet: AICA Requests REDAC to Support SEVEN Research Proposals for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)
November 18, 2022 – Along with the seven research proposals, AICA stated: “We hope that REDAC will take a balanced, independent, and inclusive research perspective to sufficiently represent the local community stakeholders who could be substantially and negatively affected by Advanced Air Mobility. What will REDAC do to ensure this? How can we support you?”
