Federal Register Comment on FAA Aviation Noise Complaint and Inquiry Response (ANCIR) Portal – March 2026

AICA’s public comment, supported by 76 advocacy organizations, submitted to the Federal Register, Docket ID No. FAA-2026-0661. The comment finds that the FAA’s ANCIR Noise Portal functions primarily as a complaint intake system rather than a meaningful community engagement or analytical tool, and recommends targeted improvements so that community-submitted data are analyzed, linked to operational and noise exposure conditions, and transparently used to inform mitigation actions and aviation noise policy decisions.

Federal Register Comment on FAA Draft Transition Plan to Unleaded Aviation Gasoline – March 2026

AICA’s public comment on the FAA Draft Transition Plan to Unleaded Aviation Gasoline, submitted to the Federal Register, Docket ID No. FAA-2026-00296. The comment calls for a defined regulatory pathway, implementation structure, and clear criteria for fuel availability to support the safe elimination of leaded aviation gasoline by 2030. The Earthjustice submission also highlighted AICA’s recommendation regarding inclusion of community groups.

Federal Register Comment: National Collaboration on FAA’s Modernization of Pilot Schools (February 8, 2025–Current)

AICA led a February 8, 2025 Federal Register comment on the FAA’s Modernization of Pilot Schools (14 CFR Part 141) with Save Our Skies Alliance and Groton Ayer Buzz. The endorsements by the University Aviation Association (UAA) and the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), followed by a subsequent joint submission by AICA, UAA, and NATA, marked an unprecedented alignment between community advocates and national aviation organizations.

AICA, Studio City For Quiet Skies, and UproarLA’s Federal Register Comment on NASA’s test on human response to Advanced Aviation Mobility (AAM) vehicle noise  – April 26, 2024-Current

Three community groups submitted a joint public comment in the Federal Register regarding NASA’s planned test. The overarching input is for NASA to design, execute, and derive findings from the Varied AAM Noise and Geographic Area Response Difference (VANGARD) test to accurately reflect how impacted communities experience noise.
